ALZ-NET: A collaborative effort to improve brain health outcomes
Patient network
ALZ-NET collects real-world clinical and imaging data about patients being evaluated for memory concerns or receiving treatment with new FDA-approved Alzheimer’s therapies, including new drugs/medications and devices. ALZ-NET is a resource for evidence gathering, information sharing, and education across clinical and research communities, encouraging innovative, inclusive research and supporting opportunities to improve care. ALZ-NET is also a platform for patients to access resources about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, including locating ALZ-NET participating sites. ALZ-NET is sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association and managed and operated by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
Payer coverage
ALZ-NET is approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as a Coverage with Evidence Development (CED) study and can be used as a pathway to Medicare coverage for anti-amyloid Alzheimer’s therapies that have received traditional FDA approval.

Why join ALZ-NET
ALZ-NET aims to support evidence-based dementia diagnosis, treatment and quality care. Health systems and health care providers can leverage the Alzheimer’s Association’s experience collaborating with a national network of providers and gain insights into patient treatment and care through real-world data shared back to your institution. Sites will receive remuneration for operations and data collection, and access to resources to support clinicians and their staff in emerging dementia science.

Why join ALZ-NET
By participating in ALZ-NET, you support advancements in dementia research to improve care across all communities. People being evaluated for memory concerns or treated with new FDA-approved Alzheimer’s disease therapies, including drugs/medications and devices, across the United States may be eligible to enroll in ALZ-NET. Health care providers and researchers can learn about real-world patterns in diagnosing and treating Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia when patients consent to provide their health care data. Your participation can help treat Alzheimer’s disease today and improve care for you and others in the future.
How to participate
There is no charge to join ALZ-NET.
ALZ-NET does not require additional effort on the patient or caregiver’s behalf other than routinely visiting your health care provider for your scheduled visits. Your health care provider is required to be located in a registered ALZ-NET site. Your provider will advise if you are eligible to participate in ALZ-NET.
For researchers
Information ALZ-NET is collecting
As a multi-site network, ALZ-NET is collecting real-world data that can be used by researchers to advance innovative research and improve clinical care. ALZ-NET uses a set of protocols and procedures to collect and standardize data. All data is de-identified and goes through strict standards for protecting data and privacy. ALZ-NET will collect and archive longitudinal patient data, including demographic, medical, neurologic, cognitive, functional, genetic, diagnostic, imaging, biomarker, treatment and safety data.
Accessing ALZ-NET data
ALZ-NET will enable responsible sharing of de-identified data, brain imaging and biospecimens with the research community and other partners. All data collected, stored and shared through ALZ-NET is managed by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
